NFL Draft 2018: Patriots host Lamar Jackson, reportedly ‘intrigued and impressed’ by QB

There’s growing speculation the Patriots will select a quarterback in the upcoming NFL Draft, and a report Monday suggests the team might be interested in Lamar Jackson.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Network reported that the team hosted the former Louisville quarterback on a visit two weeks ago and were “intrigued and impressed” with the 2016 Heisman Trophy winner.

“He’s been facilitating for us all year,” Lowry said. “He’s been getting in the paint, kicking it out. He had five assists. He’s been more aggressive offensively, which we need him to do.”

Unlike Lowry, who is almost an intuitively economical guard, DeRozan occasionally battles some lesser impulses. His talent often enables him to overcome his sometimes questionable diet of shot attempts, but when he’s operating as the catalyst in Toronto’s reinvigorated offense, his best instincts prevail. His quantified shot quality — Second Spectrum’s metric that measures the likelihood of an attempt going in if the average NBA player takes the shot — was 48.0, his highest of the series.

Bryant’s free agent market hasn’t taken off like some may have expected. After three down years of lower numbers and injuries, Bryant’s star is shining a little dimmer these days. However, he should still find a team before training camp.

The Saints and Seahawks remain in the market for Bryant, while the player himself seems to prefer a move within the NFC East so he can seek revenge on the Cowboys twice a year.

The Giants have been consistently linked with Bryant — mainly by Bryant himself — but there may be something to the rumors after new York just cut Brandon Marshall.

Immediately after his release, Bryant was most-heavily linked with a move to Baltimore, but the Ravens had already added Michael Crabtree and John Brown, and just signed Willie Snead from the Saints, likely ending their Bryant pursuit.

While Bryant may not be back in Dallas any time soon, expect the 29-year-old to latch on with a contender of some sort.

Panik hit a soft comebacker to Roark in the fifth that glanced off the pitcher’s glove then bounced up on the top of his cap before falling to the turf. Roark initially couldn’t locate the ball but found it in time to throw to first for the out.steelers_054
